Several well crafted originals showcase the quintet’s songwriting competence, visiting themes of love, loss, settling into a new home, and other meditations wrapped in thoughtful harmonies and conversation between the band member’s inspired & lulling strings. Other tracks include a soft grassy version of Swedish singer-songwriter “The Tallest Man on Earth” (aka Kristian Matsson) song “Where Do My Bluebird Fly”, two fresh re-worked traditionals; the sassy “Greasy Coat” and a spritely version of “Darling Corey”. Harry Tuft of Denver’s Folklore Society remarked: “I’m reminded of early Grateful Dead, with a smattering of Old Crow Medicine Show thrown in. The selections range from bluegrass, to a sort of jug band swing, to some more sensitive songs – a nice variety. Look for a fine future from the young group.”
